
Quality Manager
Quality Manager:
The Quality Manager will be a field-based person responsible for quality assurance at several project sites. The Quality Manager sets the direction and leads the quality assurance and quality control process to ensure continuous quality improvement. This role will establish and implement the quality assurance and quality control strategy. The Quality Manager will provide guidance across the organization in the implementation of plans and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful implementation of the company’s quality assurance/quality control plan on the project, with secondary responsibility for safety, schedule, and budget performance. This includes all aspects of the project – product evaluation, drawing reviews, submittals, civil, mechanical, electrical, SCADA, and commissioning.
- Develop and customize project specific QA/QC plans, cheat sheets, and checklists based on design drawings and installation manuals.
- Assemble QA/QC drawings to record deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with the design documents throughout all stages of construction and across all trades.
- Perform quality inspections of installed work. Monitor and track progress of daily inspections, and ensure all deficiencies are recorded. Coordinate with Superintendent to manage remediation process with installing subcontractors.
- On larger projects this person will supervise and manage a team of quality technicians to ensure all inspections are completed and documented in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure that inspections and remediations are conducted in a manner that helps facilitate the timely completion of the project. Coordinate with Superintendent to manage remediation process with installing subcontractors.
- Advise project teams on status of accepted installations and corrective action items daily.
- Assist in creating and implementing recovery and/or remediation plans if required.
- Assist with receipt, unloading (as necessary), and inventory of modules, racking, and other products purchased by hep.

- Ensure compliance with hep, Owner, State, County, and OSHA safety protocols on the construction sites. If no Safety Manager is on the project, assist the Superintendent in performing the following duties:
- Perform onsite safety orientations.
- Collect and review subcontractor JHA’s.
- Collect and review other safety documentation from subs.
- Lead safety stand-downs and toolbox talks.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to diligently execute tedious inspections in cold or hot conditions without losing focus.
- Strong organizational skills. Ability to document, track, and report on numerous issues across multiple sites.
- Ability to be professional, confident, and reasonably assertive in a construction environment.
- Ability to dive deep into the details without losing focus of the larger goals of the project and the company.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of people from various backgrounds.
- Strong leadership, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in reading, understanding, and applying construction documents (civil, structural, and electrical drawings; installation manuals; equipment specifications; etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Accountability for successful completion of assigned projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors in a technical field – CM, Engineering, or similar (preferred)
- 2+ years construction experience in Commercial or Industrial projects
- Safety training (OSHA 10 or 30)
- Solar EPC experience (preferred)
Working Conditions:
Physical environment requiring employees to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. Lifting 50lb loads occasionally required. Frequent walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching required for inspections. Climbing ladders is occasionally required.
Frequent travel is required.
