Equipment Operator
The O&M Equipment Operator’s main responsibility is to perform miscellaneous project tasks such as vegetation management, erosion control repairs, material handling, road repairs etc. They will also be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the MCB Camp Lejeune repowering work and performing operations and maintenance duties for the solar facilities across hep Petra’s operational portfolio.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and perform Vegetation Management on site throughout the operational portfolio as well as in specific areas on active construction sites.
- Manage and perform ground preparation for the placement of solar module foundations.
- Provide support directed by the Grading Foreman and/or assigned manager.
- Operate trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Refer defects and repairs to the supervisor.
- Operate forklifts to transport materials on-site.
- Load and unload materials onto solar farm sites.
- Maintain accurate accounting of materials.
- Communicate the need for maintenance or repair.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in equipment operations
- Clean driving record
- Comfortable operating vehicles with trailers, proficient in cargo management and tie-down.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience in logistics.
- Proficiency reading technical specification documents, site plans, & electrical schematics.
- Strong background with MS Excel.
Professional and Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in related technical field (preferred).
- CDL (preferred)
- Solar Operations and/or construction experience (preferred).
- Electrical experience preferred, willingness to learn is a must.
- Networking experience preferred.
- Troubleshooting experience in any field preferred.

This job is a field-based role that operates on solar sites in remote locations. There will be times of moderate noise. This role is subject to field conditions such as weather, including heat, cold, and rai
